The Dor-a-bil Dolls company began in 1996 literally "by accident!" A few years prior, my adult child was in a horrific auto accident, caused by "road rage"... and being in the wrong place at the wrong time. As a result, this young adult was left totally disabled. Married, with children, being productive was of major importance.
I have always loved to create and design dolls and decided to involve this loved one in the process. Together, we launched Dor-a-bil Dolls, creating handcrafted custom-made gift dolls. Our dolls have been sold in specialty gift shops and craft stores throughout New England.

Dor-a-bil Dolls are handmade with wood block torsos, which make them ideal for sitting on a mantel, shelf or nightstand. All dolls have hand painted wooden faces and realistic curly hair. Arms and legs are made from fabric, with lace-trimmed pantaloons. Dolls measure 12" in length, and 7" in a sitting position.
